Targa West is a rally event held in and around Perth, Western Australia, over the 4 days from the 6th to the 9th September 2007.
The event takes its name from the Targa Florio, a former motoring event which take place yearly on the island of Sicily, as well as more recent Australian events including Targa Tasmania, East Coast Targa and Classic Adelaide.
Only in it's third year, QUIT Targa West has already secured itself a spot as one of the major Tarmac rallies in Australia. Every year the competition grows attracting some of the biggest names in Tarmac rallying and boasts a field of some of the best cars in the country.
QUIT Targa West is divided into four separate categories run under one banner, with teams competing in either the Competition or Challenge categories, which are further broken down into Modern and Classic (pre-1982) classes.
The wide and varied field of classic and modern vehicles competed along some of the most spectacular roads that Western Australia has to offer with some exciting new stages added since 2006.
Luca Giorgella, Segafredo Zanetti’s distributor in Western Australia, won the Classic class competing in an exquisite Jag Mk 1.
