Segafredo Zanetti Espresso recently opened the second café in the Dominican Republic. The outlet, a 60 sq. m. kiosk set-up with ample seating possibilities, is located into the International Airport of Punta Cana, facing the Terminal 1 gates leading to several important cities in Europe and the U.S. / Canada.
The airport is built in a traditional Dominican style with open-air terminals with their roofs covered in palm fronds.
Sales of “Authentic Italian Espresso Beverages” are supported by well trained professional baristas. The feedback from the public has been very encouraging since the first opening days and “Italian Cappuccino” and “Freddo-Italian Frappe” have soon become the most popular beverages.
Traffic at the airport reaches almost 2 million passengers per year and major improvements are expected as a result of additional renovations - that are taking place - and the construction of another brand new terminal.
Punta Cana is a world tourist destination with incomparably white and soft beaches coupled with top class resorts and big names of the hotel industry populating the nearby coast by the airport itself as Barcelò, Club Mediterranèe and Sol Meliá.
It is also famous for first class golf courses and the presence of some residences of the international jet-set such as those of Julio Iglesias, Oscar de la Renta and Mikhail Baryshnikov.
We wish great success to our Dominican Republic developer, Vuelta Arriba Cafe which is already working on the next opening of other outstanding cafés.
