Segafredo Zanetti Espresso has opened a new franchising café in Almaty, the largest city of Kazakhstan with more than a million inhabitants.
Former capital, Almaty is anyway considered the major scientific, cultural and commercial centre of the country. Moreover, with the Kazakhstan South-East mountains just on the outskirts of the city, Almaty has a long tradition of winter sports and will host the 7th Asian Winter Games, which will be held in 2011.
The name Almaty derives from the Kazakh word for apple, and thus is often translated as a city "rich with apples": the surrounding region is thought to be the ancestral home of the apple and even nowadays is very rich in wild species of such fruit.
Almaty is a very nice place, with tree lined streets and numerous parks and is famous for its hundreds of fountains. The Segafredo Zanetti Espresso café is located in Dostyk Street, one of the most important streets of the city, dubbed “the Champs Elysees in Almaty”. The outlet offers place for 70 people inside and a wide terrace outside. In this perfect position, the Segafredo Zanetti style and the excellent quality of its espresso are the keys of the café success, with great satisfaction of the franchisee.
